Enrolment course and exam

Course enrolment

Enrolment periods

Before enrolling for courses, follow these steps to ensure a smooth process:

  • Check the enrolment periods here.
  • Check in Ocasys whether you fulfil the entry requirements of the course. Course enrolment is open to all, but if you do not fulfil the entry requirements, your course enrolment will not lead to an exam enrolment.
  • If you participate in more than one LLM or track, check the schedule to see which courses you can take in the same block to avoid overlap.

Enrolling for a course and a working group

Check the EDUsupport manual for how to enrol.

What if a working group is full?

If your preferred working group is full:

  • Enrol for a different working group that still has places available.
  • Only in cases of insurmountable scheduling problems (e.g., if the times of the remaining working groups conflict with other compulsory courses) should you contact the administration.
The administration is available during enrolment periods on working days from 10:30–11:30 am at +31 50 363 5721.
Check in advance which working groups fit your schedule.

If all working groups are full during the enrolment period, the administration will discuss the option of opening extra working groups with the lecturer.

What if you missed the working group enrolment deadline?

If you did not enrol for a working group during the enrolment period, contact the department in charge of the particular course as soon as possible.

In your 1st year, you enrol for the working groups of block 1 and 2 at the start of your programme. Only for these working groups, you can enrol in Ocasys until 1 October.

Exam enrolment

How exam enrolment works

At the Faculty of Law, course enrolment equals exam enrolment. You will be automatically enrolled for the exam and any resits if you:

  • enrol for a course correctly
  • meet the entry requirements, and
  • have a valid UG student registration.

Confirmation of  your exam enrolment and table number

  • At least three weeks before the start of the examination period, you will receive an email confirming your enrolment for written exams.
  • Check your exam enrolments in Ocasys to ensure everything is correct.
  • One week before the start of the examination period, you will receive an email with your table number for each exam.
  • Regularly check your UG email for updates.

De-enrol if you choose not to participate

If you decide not to take the exam or resit, de-enrol as soon as possible in Ocasys.

Missed the enrolment deadline? Here is how to fix it

Forgot to enrol for a course or didn’t meet the requirements when exam enrolments were processed? You can still act:

  • A repair possibility is available in week 5 of each block for exam or resit enrolment in Ocasys.
  • This enrolment also grants access to Brightspace and any resit exams.
  • After week 5, no repair is possible for that block’s exams.

According to the Examination Regulation, you must enrol for written exams. Failure to do so means you cannot participate, and any exam taken will be invalid.

Check the academic calendar for repair possibility weeks.

Resit examinations

  • If you fail or do not participate in the first exam, you will be automatically enrolled for the resit if you:

o  are enrolled for the course correctly,
o meet the entry requirements, and
o have a valid UG student registration.

  • If you only want to take the resit, enrol for the course but de-enrol from the first exam as soon as your exam enrolment is confirmed.
