On Thursday 16 May, the Transboundary Legal Studies Department, together with the Nexus Student Association, organized a successful career day for students featuring speakers ranging from the International Criminal Court to the Iran-US Claims Tribunal.

With additional support from Prof. Panos Merkouris, Principle Investigator of the TRICI-Law project, and the Faculty of Law’s International Office, the Nexus Student Association, a student association within the Faculty of Law, have organised one of their most successful Career Days to date.

Prestigious Guests

The event was an outstanding achievement, as evidenced by the venue being filled to capacity. Engaged students eagerly listened to the professional wisdom imparted by these prestigious presenters:
- Dragan Ivetic from the Association of Defense Counsel
- Heather Clark from the Iran-US claims tribunal
- Milena Bruns from the investigative analysis section at the Office of the Prosecutor for the International Criminal Court
- Adesola Adeboyejo, Trial Lawyer at the International Criminal Court
- Hai Do Duc, Lawyer at the International Criminal Court
- Isabela Leao Moreira, intern at the International Court of Justice and International Criminal Court

Followed by a social borrel with the speakers, the Career Day offered unparalleled access for students to engage with legal professionals and learn about the realities of a career in international law. This event served as a fantastic career-oriented bookend to the academic year, and it sets a high bar for future Nexus career events.
