Four UG law students selected for prestigious European Traineeship Programme
Four students from the Faculty of Law have been selected to join the Pan-European Seal Traineeship Programme 2025/2026. This prestigious programme is jointly organized by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO).
The programme offers recent graduates a unique opportunity to gain international experience in the field of intellectual property, work alongside leading experts from across Europe, and take important steps towards building an international career.
The selected students are Kalina Hristova, Laimonas Bieliauskas, Nikolaj Taliga, and Darina Pitkevica. They will carry out their traineeships at either the EUIPO or the EPO. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the scale of the programme: more than 1,200 candidates across Europe were shortlisted, with over 775 applications submitted before the final selection took place.

Key role for Dr Marina Markellou
The UG’s participation in the programme is initiated and coordinated by Assistant Professor Dr Marina Markellou, who also guided the candidate selection process. Through her efforts, UG students are given the opportunity to showcase their talents on an international stage and expand their professional networks.
Future opportunities
Calls for applications for future editions of the Pan-European Seal Professional Traineeship Programme will be announced in due course. These will provide new chances for RUG students to take part in this prestigious initiative. Stay tuned for updates!
