Tim van Zuijlen, LL.M., Dr Gerard Ritsema van Eck, Dr Jasper Verstappen and Dr Nina Mileva nominated for Best Practice in Teaching & Learning Award
This week at the UG is all about the Education Festival. One of the components of that festival is the presentation of the Best Practice Award , an annual celebration of the best educational practices at the University of Groningen. This year, no fewer than four employees of the Faculty of Law have been nominated for that award.
IT Law Paper Series
Tim van Zuijlen, LL.M., Dr Gerard Ritsema van Eck and Dr Jasper Verstappen have been nominated as a team for the Best Practice ‘The IT Law Paper Series’. With that initiative, they aim to meet in a small but meaningful way the need of IT law students to collaborate and write during courses. In this project, several teams of two students and one IT law researcher write a paper, with the students taking the initiative.
Quick Review Quiz
Dr Nina Mileva works not only for our Faculty, but also for University College Groningen. On behalf of that Faculty, she has been nominated for the Best Practice award with the ‘Quick Review Quiz’. This teaching method involves starting each lesson with a mini-quiz that covers the content of previous sessions. The quiz format includes open-ended and true/false questions, which encourages active participation and discussion among students.
Presentation of the award
The UG Best Practice in Teaching and Learning Award recognizes programs that have implemented pedagogical practices or approaches related to the educational goals of the UG. The presentation of the award will take place this afternoon and all nominated teams are invited to attend the ceremony. The award will be presented by Rector Magnificus Jacquelien Scherpen.
