Humanitarian multi-track diplomacy

The 450,000 aid professionals around the world have something in common.Regardless of their role – and context of their work – they practice diplomacy in order to deliver effective aid. In the last few years there has been a growing recognition that diplomatic function is an essential element in humanitarian aid. Many agree humanitarian effectiveness depends on diplomacy. Some would even argue that without the practice of diplomacy humanitarian action could not exist. This research proposes how this practice is best conceptualized and operationalized in order to achieve effective humanitarian action.
