After applying to university in the UK, I was looking at other options which would allow me to study law as I have wanted to do from a very young age. I heard about the University of Groningen through a friend, ordered a prospectus, saw the International and European Law programme, and decided it was perfect for me. I came to visit the city and instantly felt at home! The city itself is beautiful, vibrant and just a fantastic place to be. Choosing to live here was the best decision I've ever made. As well as the city being perfect for me, I could not be happier with my choice of degree programme. Studying International and European law not only teaches me the skills which I will need to progress in my career in later life (hopefully working for the UN), but also allows me to understand world events in far greater depth.

The Faculty of Law is a terrific place to study; my year in the programme is relatively small, so we all know each other and it's a really nice environment to be in. Studying here in Groningen has given me opportunities which I do not think I would have been offered elsewhere. I am about to start my exchange programme in Iceland, and am planning on starting a masters degree in International Law here in Groningen once I have graduated from the LLB. My dream would be to work for the UN (or another major international organisation) to focus on addressing human rights issues, and I know that this degree programme will help me reach that goal.
