I commenced my law studies in Mexico. However after I discovered such a unique programme I decided to restart my law studies in Groningen. My time in Groningen has been extraordinary, although I faced some challenges at the beginning when encountering a different country and teaching system from the one I was accustomed to. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed the interaction with international students from many diverse backgrounds, each of them influencing and making my Groningen experience richer.
I have enjoyed the manner in which this same diversity contributes to classes. Fellow classmates from different countries comment about different approaches of law in their home legal systems, resulting in an overview from different legal perspectives throughout the world. In addition, the programme includes discussions about current global issues which give students a broader vision of our world today.
Students in Groningen can also easily find an abundance of things to do - joining students’ organizations, practicing sports and enjoying the nightlife.
After finishing the LLB programme I plan to study a master’s degree in Environmental Law and Law of the Sea, which combined with the LLB would provide me with the knowledge and skills to take my career to an international level.
