Weather update - all buildings are open
Update Monday 12 January, 2 p.m.
Now that the thaw has set in, all exams can resume. The new exam schedule has been published. It contains the rescheduled exam dates that were cancelled on Monday morning. Please note that some exams will be rescheduled this week for practical reasons.
We wish our students all the best with their exams and look forward to welcoming everyone back to our buildings!
Update 11 January
On Monday 12 January exams scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and between 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. are canceled
These exams will be rescheduled for the second exam week. The new exam schedule will be available on Monday during the course of the day. Exams scheduled for Monday after 2 p.m. will go ahead as planned.
Buildings open, advice to work from home in the morning
The University of Groningen buildings are open and academic ceremonies will go ahead. However, due to the expected freezing rain, the advice is to work from home in the morning, if the nature of the work allows this. The dialogue session on the governance of the University of Groningen will also proceed as planned. Please note: the Sports Centre will be open on Monday from 10:30 a.m.
Partial online teaching
Teaching will continue, but attendance is not compulsory. The lecturer will decide whether teaching will take place online or on location. Keep an eye on the messages from your lecturer. Tips for lecturers on online teaching can be found in this article. (Only visible to staff.)
Safety first
We understand that the ongoing uncertainty and changes are annoying, but safety comes first. We wish all students the best of luck with their exams!
