Microplastics in cosmetics, Prof Melgert in Koffietijd

Prof Barbro Melgert’s research on plastic microparticles and their effects on health was highlighted in a news item published the national newspaper Trouw. The article aims to raise awareness of the overabundance of disposable products, for instance clothing, the increase of plastic particles in the environment due to daily wear and tear as well as waste products, and the resulting detrimental health effects.

Furthermore, Barbro also participated in the Dutch national TV programme “Koffietijd” on RTL4, discussing the use of plastics in cosmetics, and their impact on the environment and health.
