Energy-saving pilot: adjusted opening hours UB City Centre as of 1 December
As of 1 December, the UB City Centre will adjust its opening hours as part of an energy-saving pilot. The opening hours around exam weeks in January, March/April and June/July 2023 will remain unchanged. This is a one-year pilot, with an evaluation after six months.
With this pilot, the UB follows the government's advice to save energy.
The adjusted opening hours are based on an extensive analysis of visitor numbers at UB City Centre. The hours the UB now chooses to open later or to close earlier are the times with a very low occupancy of the study areas. By curtailing the building's opening hours outside the busy exam periods, significant energy savings are expected.
As of Thursday, 1 December, the UB City Centre will be open:
Monday to Friday: 9 a.m.-10 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
During exam periods, opening hours will remain:
Monday to Sunday: 8:30-00:00 a.m.
The pilot will be deployed for a period of twelve months, with an evaluation after six months.
