Renovation for Faculty of Law reaches highest point

In the centre of Groningen, the conversion of the former library into a building for the Faculty of Law reached its highest point on 8 September. Reason enough for the University of Groningen, together with Visser & Smit Bouw and Homij, to hoist the flags and celebrate this milestone with all those involved at the building site.
One of the biggest changes to this former library building is the construction of a fourth floor. The steel structure is now in place, making the building wind and watertight.
Ample space for meeting people
The new patio, in the previously dark library spaces, will provide more daylight. A bicycle entrance will also be added, which will be integrated with an existing side entrance. The building will also house a training court for law students, various teaching rooms, offices and consultation areas and plenty of space for meeting people.
The Faculty is expected to move into the new accommodation in mid-2023.
