Results of 2022 University elections

23 May 2022

The votes have been counted and the results of the University elections are in!

Elections were held for the student sections of the UG University Council and faculty councils. For the first time since the pandemic, the student parties campaigned in person at University buildings once again. By handing out flyers and chatting with students, the parties were able to make students enthusiastic to go and vote. Despite the active campaigns, a disappointing total of 20,55% of the 35,045 students at the UG submitted their vote. This is 2,4 % less than in 2021 (22,95%).

The University Council

The University Council is the consultative participation body of the UG, consisting of 24 seats. One half of the Council comprises UG staff members and the other half are student members. As from 1 September 2022, the distribution of seats will be as follows:

Student faction

  • SOG: 6 seats (2 more than 2021)
  • Lijst Calimero: 4 seats ( 1 less than 2021)
