Three UG-alumni in the new Dutch cabinet
The new Rutte IV cabinet counts three former students of the University of Groningen:
Ernst Kuipers (Medicine, 1986), frequently in the news because of the coordination of the corona pandemic, is Minister for Health, Welfare and Sport for D'66.
Dennis Wiersma (Sociology, 2009), State Secretary for Social Affairs in the previous cabinet, now Minister for Primary and Secondary Education on behalf of the VVD.
Aukje de Vries (Social Geography, 1989) Member of Parliament for the VVD since 2012, is State Secretary for Allowances and Customs for the VVD.
