Education Festival 2021

Celebrating Education - New ways of teaching, continued commitment
02 February 2021

In the week of 19 to 23 April 2021 , the annual Education Festival – the successor to the Education Day – will take place. Note it in your agenda, as it is a moment of inspiration and reflection for you and your fellow lecturers. The festival revolves around all of you and what you can learn from one another. The Education Festival will be scheduled in a way that it can also be attended alongside a busy week at work.

Innovations in teaching

We will celebrate, among other aspects, the innovations in teaching that have been implemented over the past year. The following themes will be central to this:

  • Blended learning: hybrid/digital teaching in a sustainable manner
  • Interdisciplinary teaching for employability, lifelong learning and citizenship
  • Inclusion and diversity: impact on your classroom
  • Assessment for learning: dos and don’ts in hybrid and digital exams

Join in!

The Education Festival will boast a varied programme, including interactive activities and recurring items. The programme is being organized by the Teaching Academy Groningen, and contributions from participants are warmly welcome! Do you have a video, for example, a pitch or other suggestions for the programme? Could we help you to prepare something for it? Sign up as a festival-maker or send us your proposals or tips: tag@rug.nl .

Hybrid

The Education Festival will take place in a hybrid manner, but the proportion of online to on-site activities is not yet clear. This depends, of course, on the developments concerning COVID-19 and preventative measures. We will provide more information on this at a later stage. As a festival-maker, you will be able to participate on site (albeit in a limited manner), unless you’d rather participate from home. We are also calling on everyone to invite as many team members, colleagues, students and other interested parties to the festival as possible!
