Godliver Owomugisha, who defended her PhD August 28 2020, has been selected for a "Data Science Africa Research Award"

The DSA will support (with 10.000 US$) the project entitled
"Early detection and diagnosis of crop diseases in asymptomatic plants: acquisition and machine learning analysis of spectral data."
In this collaboration of the Intelligent Systems Group, the AI Research Group at Makerere University, Kampala, and the National Crops Resources Research Institute (NaCRRI) of Uganda, we will perform experimental studies and acquire high quality data for the machine learning based diagnosis of cassava diseases.
