Vincente Artola Arita selected as a finalist in the International Three-Minute-Thesis Competition
"One size does not fit our hearts" declared MD/PhD student Vincente Artola Arita, from the Department of Cardiology at UMCG, during his prize-winning pitch at the UG 3MT competition held in March of this year. In just 3 minutes, Vincente engaged the judges and the audience with his innovative research into biomarkers used for detecting and treating heart conditions in cardiac patients. Watch Vincente's pitch here.
The video of Vincente's winning pitch was sent to the Coimbra Group as the UG's entry for their 2020 International 3MT competition. From the 19 submitted video's submitted from Universities throughout Europe, 3 entries were selected for the finals and Vincente has been selected as one of the three finalists! In October Vincente will attend the Coimbra 3MT International finals in Montpellier, France during their Annual Conference. We wish Vincente the best of luck during the competition!
This is the second year in a row Groningen will be represented at the Coimbra 3MT International competition. Last year, PhD candidate Femke Cnossen, winner of the 2019 UG 3MT competition, represented Groningen at the Coimbra International 3MT competition in Krakow, Poland.
