Educational activities with UMCG staff temporarily canceled

The UMCG has canceled all educational activities with UMCG professors and teachers until 4 April. With these, and other measures, we try to keep the new corona virus outside of the hospital. Students are informed about these measures by their education coordinators. The most important points are:

Faculty of Medical Sciences: Medicine, Dentistry and Human Movement Sciences

For all programs, all educational meetings with UMCG teachers are canceled until 4 April. Where possible, online education is used. For individual and teacher-related education for small groups, the teacher or department decides which classes take place and which don't. For internships etc., the UMCG sees them as employees of the UMCG and the employee policy applies to them as well.

Other faculties (UG education)

The education of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and of the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences in the same educational building at Antonius Deusinglaan 1 will still continue.

Internships and advanced medical training

Full-time internships of the three programs of the Faculty of Medical Sciences will be examined on a case-by-case basis. Agreements are made for each study program about 'return education'. Where possible, this is offered online, otherwise it will be suspended. Part time will be suspended until 4 April. We will not start with new internships.

Researchmaster and PhD training

The Graduate School of Medical Sciences will stop organizing group education activities immediately. Where possible, online education is used. For individual and teacher-related education for small groups, the teacher or department decides which classes take place and which don't. For internships etc., the UMCG sees them as employees of the UMCG and the employee policy applies to them as well.

PhD ceremonies

For all UMCG employees, the policy with regard to attending meetings applies. For PhD ceremonies, this means that UMCG employees will not oppose in the auditorium of the Academy Building (UG). Where possible, we work with online connections.
