Atmos Groningen
As the Green Office, we’d like to be a platform for students and communities to communicate through. Therefore, we give some associations who promote sustainability extensively a platform to tell their story. Now up: Atmos Groningen!
Atmos Groningen is the first and only study association in the North of the Netherlands for students that are passionate about energy, environment and sustainability. As an association our aim is to foster a strong and motivated student community who are looking to venture into the realms of sustainability, energy transition and environment. Our student community currently comprises of individuals from diverse academic backgrounds and ethnicities. We focus on creating opportunities which facilitate networking among students and leaders from within and outside academia. We organize both career and social events which include - monthly drink, soft-skill workshops, career days and other such activities. Moreover, we are looking to organize excursions and in-house days as well as a trip abroad with our members in the future! Our monthly newsletter and LinkedIn page functions to keep our members informed of the developments and job prospects within the field.
As a member of Atmos you will not only have access to all the events and offers, but also have a chance to be at the fore-front of a one of a kind budding young researchers community in Groningen. For more information about us and what we do, visit our website.
Some of our members:
Atmos really puts effort into organizing a diverse amount of workshops/events that help me develop my soft skills and also further broaden my knowledge about energy and sustainability. They also regularly post job/internship/PhD opportunities which helps a lot during my searches. - Allessandro Guidihno
Because I come from abroad, I did not have many friends here in Groningen. Atmos provided me with a great group of like-minded students, which have now become my friends. - Xi Chen
My master course provides me with a lot of theoretical background on my topics of interest, however, I haven't learned a lot about the practical side of these topics and job market. Atmos fills this gap by supplying me with this information and also by providing the opportunity to visit energy and sustainability related companies. - Eric ten Harm
