Symposium Diversity in Education
On May 15th, 2019, the GION knowledge group on Diversity organized a symposium called “Diversity in Education: There's more in me, than the eye can see: embracing gender and ethnic-cultural diversity in education”. The symposium was aimed at raising awareness and collecting best practices on the topics of gender- and ethnic-cultural diversity in education (and their intersectionality). The symposium theme was related to the “All inclusive” lustrum celebration of the University of Groningen.
The symposium program consisted of a general introduction by dr. Marjolein Deunk, keynote lectures by dr. Els Consuegra (Free University of Brussels) and dr. Orhan Agirday (University of Amsterdam, KU Leuven), two workshops related to the keynotes and a panel discussion, led by dr. Hanke Korpershoek. We’re thankful for an inspiring day!
