Bessensap 2019 open for submission of research proposals
On Friday 21 June, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) will host the ‘Bessensap 2019’ event in collaboration with the Association for Science Journalism and Communication Netherlands (VWN). Around 350 journalists, press officers and researchers will meet in De Rode Hoed theatre in Amsterdam to network and exchange knowledge about science communication. It is the ideal opportunity for researchers to draw science journalists’ attention to their socially relevant and newsworthy research. Registration is open until 19 April.
Researchers at all levels can submit a presentation, even if they are not funded by the NWO. The presentations must introduce a topical, newsworthy and mediagenic perspective, for example by offering recent or forthcoming results, surprising insights or new avenues of research. Please note that the presentations cannot be under embargo. From the submissions, the most mediagenic/newsworthy studies will be selected for 15-minute presentations. Registration is open until 19 April via NWO’s website: https://bit.ly/2OrXZf0. For more information, please visit Bessensap: https://www.nwo.nl/actueel/evenementen/bessensap
