Andrea Cabrera Arreola off to top institute abroad on Rubicon grant

Dr Andrea Cabrera Arreola, a promising UG academic, will be able to conduct research at the University of Copenahgen for two years, thanks to the Rubicon programme organized by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

Polar bears and global warming

Global warming is influencing animal species and ecosystems worldwide. Arreola shall investigate what in the past the impact of climate changes has been on the most iconic and vulnerable Arctic animal species, the polar bear, and what that means for the future.

About Rubicon

The NWO Rubicon programme enables young researchers to acquire international research experience to help kick-start their academic careers. A total of 77 applications for Rubicon grants were submitted to NWO in this round, of which 17 were approved.
