Powder letter contained bomb threat
The powder letter delivered to the Groningen Confucius Institute (GCI) on Thursday morning 10 January contained a bomb threat. This was confirmed by the Municipality of Groningen. The police carried out a thorough bomb check in the building on Oude Boteringestraat 42, where the GCI is located. Nothing was detected. The matter is under investigation by police.
The powder letter was addressed to the GCI, an independent organization that makes use of the UG building. After extensive examination of the letter, the powder turned out to be innocent.
