Province gives #TopDutch grant worth €100,000 for solar car A student team from Hanze University of Applied Sciences and the University of Groningen is helping to build a solar-powered car. They hope to take part in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2019 in Australia, the biggest solar car race in the world. The team will drive under the flag of #TopDutch, a successful campaign aimed at attracting more international entrepreneurs to the Northern Netherlands. The province of Groningen has allocated €100,000 to the project.
Various institutes of higher education and public-funded bodies are working together in the #TopDutch Solar Racing Team. In addition, several businesses in the Northern Netherlands are providing the project with knowledge, expertise and production facilities.
