With less than two months to go until the start of the academic year, it’s very important to find a suitable place to live. We urge you to start sooner rather than later to ensure you find something that fits your budget and preferences. Starting Thursday 12 July 2018, a batch of available rooms for international students* will be published via a roomfinder service on www.athomeingroningen.com . This service is intended for international students looking for a room at the start of the ’18-’19 academic year as well as for landlords who have room(s) available. Once you have registered (for free), you will be able to search for a room by selecting your own range of preferences.

In the Netherlands, the organization of student accommodation differs from that in many other countries. The University of Groningen - as with other universities - does not arrange accommodation for students and the responsibility of finding somewhere to live rests with you. However, we are aware of the struggle to find a home in a city you don’t know. That’s why www.Athomeingroningen.com is created. The site also has more general information about looking for accommodation in Groningen as well as settling in to life in the city. More rooms will be added the coming weeks.
