VSNU publishes Internationalization Agenda

15 May 2018

Dutch universities are leading the way in a world where science and education know no bounds. Universities and universities of applied sciences want to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by international collaboration, using the quality and accessibility of higher education as the starting point. Meticulous policy on internationalization is therefore essential. The internationalization agenda presented by the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) and the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences (VH) on Monday 14 May focuses on inclusive internationalization and quality of education.

As an international university, the UG endorses this agenda. President of the Board Sibrand Poppema: ‘Internationalization is a priority area in our strategic policy and an important instrument for boosting quality, innovation and diversity in our teaching. As an international, inclusive university, we do not restrict our intake of international students, but we are asking the government to provide us with more instruments to ensure that we can do this with greater care and awareness. I would call this #smartinternational."
