Three-minute thesis competition videos

08 May 2018

Explaining a complicated subject in three minutes to a lay public with clarity, enthusiasm and passion – that’s the challenge of the Three-Minute Thesis Competition (3MT). The idea originated at the University of Queensland and has been taken up by universities across the world.

The first University of Groningen edition was held on 14 March 2018. Twelve UG PhD students took 3 minutes each to present their research to a non-specialist audience and a jury with the help of a single PPT slide. Vakil Takhaveev was the first winner of this UG competition, Dowine de Bruijn came second. Jaap Waverijn won the audience prize.
