First Groningen Museum Night whets appetite for more
The first Groningen Museum Night on Saturday 9 September was a great success. For just € 5, culture vultures could visit five Groningen museums. All 3100 tickets were sold out at the start of the evening.
Five museums open until after midnight
The University Museum, Groninger Museum, Northern Maritime Museum, GRID Printing Museum and the Dutch Comics Museum stayed open until 1 a.m. The five museums went all out, hosting a wide array of special events including music, lectures, dance, presentations, expeditions, workshops and exhibitions.
Happy and Healthy at the University Museum
Everything revolved around healthy ageing at the Happy and Healthy exhibition at the University Museum. Healthy smoothies were very popular. Upstairs, singer-songwriter Eva Waterbolk charmed her audiences, while newly appointed UG poet-in-residence Rachel Raetzer recited beautiful poetry. The University Museum welcomed 1100 visitors between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. They appreciated the friendly atmosphere and enjoyed being able to explore places they would not normally visit.
