Bachelor’s degree programme presentations

Attend a lecture, talk to students, lecturers and study advisors, and meet the people who might be sitting next to you in the lecture halls next year. Gain an impression of the city of Groningen, where you may spend the next four or five years of your life. Gather information and test the waters; that’s what the Open Day at the University of Groningen on Friday 7 November is all about. Information relating to all the University’s Bachelor’s degree programmes will be presented and prospective students are invited to explore up to four degree programmes; two in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Themed presentations

In addition to presentations about the programme themselves, the Open Day features themed lectures on subjects including living in Groningen, the difference between a university and a university of applied sciences, student life in Groningen and the possibility of studying abroad. The programme also includes special lectures for prospective international students.

Information fairs

How do you apply to the university? How does the student grant system work? What is the latest news on the system of drawing lots, selection and matching? Is it difficult to find accommodation? What sort of facilities are there for international students? Is there a fun introduction period in Groningen? And which student associations can I choose from? You will find answers to all these questions (and more) at two general information fairs being held in the city centre (Academy Building) and on the Zernike Campus (Duisenberg Building).

Study choice workshops

Workshops have also been organized for the Open Day. Who are you, what are you capable of and what do you want? What do you expect from your ideal degree programme? These are the sort of questions that will be dealt with during the workshop.

Student counsellors’ walk-in surgery

If you would prefer a quiet chat with a student counsellor about which programme to choose, studying with a disability, financial matters or another sensitive subject, come to the walk-in surgery in the Academy Building and the Duisenberg Building between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

City tour

Last but not least, current students are ready and waiting to take you on guided tour of Groningen city centre.
