Student Epke Zonderland world champion on the horizontal bar

Epke Zonderland has become world champion on the horizontal bar. The medical student was awarded 16.225 points on Sunday for his routine at the World Championships in Nanning, which kept him ahead of his rivals Kohei Uchimura (Jap) en Marijo Moznik (Cro).

For his exceptional contributions to the University of Groningen Zonderland was awarded the Nicolaas Mulerius Medal in 2012.
