Title:
Computer Vision applied to Traffic and Surveillance Problems
Abstract:
In this talk I will talk about applications of computer vision to traffic and surveillance problems.
In traffic applications, I will focus on Driver Assistance Systems (DAS) using embedded cameras, such as Lane Departure Warning Systems (LDWS), camera self-calibration and
road markings extraction and detection. Regarding surveillance, I will talk about multiple pedestrian tracking using static cameras, group detection and classification, and unusual behavior detection in uncrowded and crowded scenes.
Short bio:
Cláudio Rosito Jung received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Sciences, from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil, in 1993,1995 and 2002, respectively. He is currently Professor at UFRGS in the Computer Science department. His research interests include image denoising and enhancement, image segmentation, medical imaging, multiscale image analysis, intelligent vehicles, object tracking, multimedia applications, human motion analysis and stereo/multiview matching. He is an IEEE Senior Member.
