Although there is no need to stop drilling for gas in the Groningen gas field altogether, reducing the risk of earthquakes and preventing and repairing the damage caused to residents in the Province of Groningen are important conditions for continuing. These conclusions are among the initial results of a year-long study carried out by the University of Groningen to gauge opinion on gas extraction in the Groningen gas field among the residents of Groningen.
