Strating Prize 2014
Every year, a prize is awarded by the Backer Foundation for the best written colloquium of the previous year. The Strating prize, named after a former professor in Organic Chemistry in Groningen, was this year awarded to Antonio Rizzo, selected from a group of three nominees, the others being Niek Eisink and Selma Eising. The title of the winning colloquium: Azabicycles Construction: N-Protected Nucleophiles for the Transannular Ring Contraction Strategy. Recently, Antonio started as a PhD student in the Group of Prof. Trauner (Münich, Germany).
Traditionally, the event was celebrated with coffee and cake, and in addition a lunch for the nominees/winner, the jury and the board of the foundation.
