Dimitry Kochenov: 'Claims that Russian intervention in Ukraine is legal are absurd'
Prof. Dimitry Kochenov (EU Constitutional Law) strongly opposed Russian government's claims of the legality of the Russian intervention in the Crimea region of Ukraine in a radio interview to BBC World Service (in Russian) for the Saturday show 'Piatyj ètazh' (in Russian). BBC radio in Russian remains one of the very few news and analysis services in the biggest country in the world free from government influence, working against a chorus of propaganda outlets.
The issues of Crimean crisis will be covered in a special chapter of the book of 'The Principle of Good Neighboutly Relations in the European Legal Context' which Prof. Kochenov is co-editing for Martinus Nijhoff together with Elena Basheska. The volume is to be released in the end of the year.
