Encouragement prizes for six successful first-year students

On 29 November, six outstanding students in technical and exact sciences at the University of Groningen will receive an Encouragement Prize of € 500 from the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities in Haarlem. The winners are: Eric Pap (Mathematics and Applied Mathematics), Susan van der Woude (Physics and Applied Physics), Nadia Huisjes (Chemistry), Jan van Houten (Computing Science and Applied Informatics), Jorrit Waslander (Life Science and Technology) and Martijn Hazenberg (Chemical Engineering). They gained the highest marks in their subject in the first year.
