Out now: Broerstraat 5 October edition
The October issue of the alumni magazine Broerstraat 5 is chock-full of stories of University of Groningen alumni, including former President of the Dutch Senate Fred de Graaf, professor and writer Douwe Draaisma, and Voice of Holland singer Sandra van Nieuwland, as well as Annelies van den Belt, who became a successful online publisher in Moscow and London after her Groningen studies. Also in this issue: a hip café-cum-workspace for young entrepreneurs, how psychiatric patients and ex-patients are stigmatized, and a new RUG400 website where Groningen alumni can find their former fellow students. The Lustrumbode focuses on the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and there are interviews with scientists about creating life using organic chemistry and about the much-feared blistering disease EB.
