Albert Bressand appointed Professor of International Strategic Management in the Energy Sector
The Energy Academy Europe has appointed Albert Bressand Professor by special appointment of International Strategic Management in the Energy Sector at the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Prof. Albert Bressand led the Global Business Environment department at Shell in London until 2006. Since then he has been associated with Columbia University (New York) as Professor of Practice in International and Public Affairs, Executive Director of the Center on Energy, Marine Transportation and Public Policy and currently as Senior Fellow at the Vale Columbia Center on Sustainable International Investment and faculty on the Senior Executive Program of the Columbia Business School. He is also Special Adviser to Commissioner Andris Piebalgs at the EU Commission in Brussels.
Prof. Bressand earned advanced degrees in both mathematics and engineering at École Polytechnique in Paris and a PhD in Political Economy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
At the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Prof. Bressand will contribute to the creation of an Executive MBA with a focus on Energy to start in September 2014 while also teaching on matters related to international strategic management and the energy sector for BSc and MSc students of the FEB. The chair is part of the department of Global Economics and Management where Prof. Bressand will also contribute to research and education.

Groningen Energy and Sustainability Programme (GESP): All research and teaching relating to energy and sustainability at the University of Groningen is coordinated within the Groningen Energy and Sustainability Programme (GESP).
