Fernande Brand: “Career Office really helpful in finding the right internship”
Fernande Brand studied MSc Marketing Research and Management. Before graduation she decided to do an internship at Crazy-Voyages in Paris. She got the internship via the mailinglist of the Career Office.
Fernande: “I would highly recommend everybody to become a member of the Career Office mailing list.”
Why did you choose this internship?
Just back from an amazing IBR trip to Indonesia, I was thinking about the next steps that I wanted to take for my career.
I already knew that I wanted to do an internship before I would graduate for my Master Marketing Research and Management. Actually it was not really my plan to go to Paris for an internship, until I saw this great offer from the Career office suddenly appearing in my mailbox. I would highly recommend everybody to become a member of the Career Office mailing list. You will receive very good internship offers every week so that you get an idea of what kind of companies search for interns. Amongst these offers there can be just something really great that totally suit you. This also happened to me.
This internship was perfect for me. The combination of marketing, setting up a business and my interests in travelling were all covered in this internship and that really attracted me. I didn’t hesitate and thought: “Let’s just give it a try, I will never know”. Now I am here, in Paris, for a 10 month internship at Crazy-Voyages.
What is Crazy-Voyages?
It is a very young, dynamic and especially fast growing company. The company started in 2009 after two French friends organized a few crazy successful bachelor parties for their friends in different big European cities. They were so enthusiastic about it that their friends told them they should make their business out of it. And that’s how it happened. Nowadays a lot of French people (already more than 20.000) celebrate their bachelor party with Crazy-Voyages abroad in one of the big European cities.
What did you do?
My task at Crazy-Voyages is to develop, launch and market the concept for the Dutch market. Actually I am working here with three other interns from different countries, that do all the same but then for their own markets (Italy, Spain and Germany) so that crazy-voyages can sell their services to customers of all of these markets. Check http://crazy-voyages.nl and have a look!
What do you recommend fellow students?
It is very interesting to be part of this growing company. Not only the internship is a great learning experience, but also living on your own for one year in such a big city is of great value to develop yourself. So, don’t hesitate and become a member of career office!
