Summary honorary doctorate and Desmond Tutu’s words of thanks now online (video's)
‘Good afternoon to everyone at this wonderful University, now my University.’ On Monday 24 September in the Martinikerk, Emeritus Archbishop Desmond Tutu was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Groningen. His words of thanks made a great impression on the audience. He told them about his work as chair of the truth and reconciliation committee. ‘I thought everyone would be bitter, but they weren’t. I am amazed at the extraordinary capacity of people to be compassionate. ’
