Partnership with Saint Petersburg State University renewed

Prof. Sibrand Poppema, President of the Board of the University of Groningen, signed a renewed cooperation agreement with Rector Nikolay Kroachev of St Petersburg State University on 21 October, in the company of Prime Minster Mark Rutte.

This concerns an existing partnership in the fields of physics, chemistry and mathematics, but during the University of Groningen delegation’s visit the parties also discussed possibilities for collaboration in the social sciences and economics.

The main focus will be on student exchange and setting up joint PhD projects . Agreements were also made in St Petersburg about a joint conference on civil law to be held in 2013.
