Annual Review University of Groningen 2010 released
‘Annual Review University of Groningen 2010’ has been released by the Communication Office. The brochures provides an overview of the University in the past year. The Annual Review is a public version of the University’s Annual Report. Important moments and trends are mentioned, as well as facts and figures.
The main focus is on eight portraits of researchers. Astronomer Amina Helmi, who was born in Argentina, is interviewed about her research into the origin of the Milky Way. John Nerbonne is professor of Humanities Computing; his ambition is to understand the way languages spread and how to improve internet search engines. Professor of Human Genitics Cisca Wijmenga explains why she is searching DNA, in order to understand why people fall ill and what we can do to prevent it.
