Thesis: Early intervention in infants at high risk for developmental motor disorders
Promotor(s): prof. M. Hadders-Algra
Faculty: Medical Sciences
This thesis examined the effects of early physiotherapeutic intervention on motor and cognitive development of infants at high risk for developmental motor disorders aged less than 18 months. The effects of a newly developed type of physiotherapeutic intervention, COPCA (Coping with and Caring for infants with special needs – a family centred programme) were compared to the effects of traditional infant physical therapy (TIP). The results indicated that the development of infants who received COPCA was slightly better.
