Lolke Schakel wint George Dantzig 2010 Honorable Mention Award
Het proefschrift van Lolke Schakel “The Logistic Design of the LOFAR Radio Telescope” (promotores: Prof.dr. G. Sierksma en Prof.dr. H.R. Butcher) was genomineerd voor de prestigieuze Dantzig Award 2010 en heeft daarbij de Honorable Mention Award gewonnen.
De Dantzig award wordt jaarlijks uitgereikt aan het beste proefschrift op het gebied van Operations Research en wil academisch onderzoek stimuleren dat zowel theoretisch als praktisch is. De award werd uitgereikt tijdens de INFORMS International Meeting in Austin (Texas) op 7 november 2010.
INFORMS, het Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences, is het grootste professionele netwerk op het gebied van Operations Research, Management Science en Business Analytics.
