Lolke Schakel wins George Dantzig 2010 Honorable Mention Award
Lolke Schakel’s thesis “The Logistic Design of the LOFAR Radio Telescope” (supervisors: Prof.dr. G. Sierksma and Prof.dr. H.R. Butcher) has been nominated for the prestigious Dantzig Award 2010 and won the Honorable Mention Award.
The Dantzig Award is awarded annually to the best thesis in the field of Operations Research and aims to stimulate academic research that is both theoretical and practical. The award has been presented at the INFORMS International Meeting in Austin (Texas) on 7 November 2010.
INFORMS, the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences, is the largest professional network in the field of Operations Research, Management Science and Business Analytics.
