The news that one of the parents has cancer, is very distressing for dependent children. Especially since cancer is associated with lengthy and intense treatment. Furthermore, the uncertainty about the patient’s outcome raises existential concerns. This research focuses on understanding the effects of parental cancer on parents and children and examines possible risk factors associated with family members’ distress and emotional and behavioral functioning.
