"With colleague Gerard Kuper I spent a couple of days at the 21th Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Apart from our presentations at an Olympic symposium, we attended speedskating, skiing and bobsleigh competition matches. Combined with the hurtful withdrawal of our four-men bobsleigh team, it all made us realize we are still far off a successful bid for future Olympic Games in the Netherlands."
