Professor of Economics Aart Bosman in university portrait gallery
A painting of Emeritus Professor Aart Bosman has been included in the RUG portrait gallery. The painting, by J.M.C. Asselbergs, will hang in the Economics Faculty Room in the Academiegebouw.
The tradition of painting portraits began in 1618 with pictures of the first four chancellors of the RUG. Over the years, a varied collection of 243 portraits has been created. In 2000, when there was no more room to hang the portraits of professors in the Senate Room, the tradition was continued in each of the relevant faculty rooms.
