About Eduarda

My name is Eduarda Guerreiro, I am Portuguese, and I have been studying International Relations & International Organization in Groningen since 2025. In addition to my studies, I am part of the study association Clio, and I dance in the student dance team AtaXia. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, going to the gym, and of course, spending time with friends.

Why IRIO?

I have always been interested in history and geography regarding the academic context, but I also love to travel and meet people from all sorts of international backgrounds. That is why, when searching for the perfect Bachelor's programme, I thought that IRIO would be the best option for me. This decision became even more evident after I participated in a MUN simulation during my high school.

Why Groningen?

I chose Groningen because I immediately fell in love with it while researching the best cities to study in The Netherlands. In addition to that, while looking at the IR programmes in different universities, this one was the only one that offered a language course. Studying anywhere around the campus is super enjoyable, and the city’s young atmosphere makes it feel like we are in a movie.

Future

I am not entirely sure of what I want to do yet. IRIO has so many options which makes it difficult to choose just one. Although I haven’t chosen a specific direction yet, I find myself interested in areas such as Political Psychology, and Security and Conflicts. What I do know is that I would love to live in as many places as I can, and meet a lot of people from different cultures throughout my life.

Golden Tip

My advice to future students would be to: Enjoy the life that Groningen has to offer while you’re here, don’t forget to balance university work with your social activities, and make as many connections as you can, whether it’s friends for life or professional contacts.
