Open pedagogy values: Sharing

Freely sharing content and knowledge through open licensing and collaborative exchange. This value is realized when individuals and institutions allow others to freely use, adapt, and build upon their creative and academic work to further personal, professional, and collective development. This is operationalized through practices such as applying Creative Commons (CC) licenses to permit the 5Rs (Retain, Reuse, Revise, Remix, Redistribute) of Open Educational Resources (OER), contributing to a global open source curriculum, and participating in information collaboration and exchange. This commitment to social openness transforms knowledge from a private commodity into a public good, enabling equitable access and fostering sustainable innovation across educational communities worldwide.
