Beursplein next to Campus Fryslân significantly greened
On Thursday 28 August 2025, the renovated Beursplein next to Campus Fryslân in Leeuwarden was officially opened after a large-scale redevelopment. The paved area has been replaced by lawns, young trees and a winding footpath. Benches have also been installed to make the square more attractive for everyday use.

With this redevelopment, the municipality of Leeuwarden and the University of Groningen aim to contribute to a city centre that is climate-proof, greener and more inviting. As of today, the park is open to the public, staff and students for walking, relaxing or enjoying the beautiful green surroundings along the water.
