Energy Academy Europe construction contract signed

Although the construction of the Energy Academy Europe on the Zernike Campus Groningen is well underway, the contracts with the building contractors were only signed on Wednesday 24 June. The University of Groningen has appointed the Friso-Koopmans Building Consortium as the building contractor and Cofely GDF Suez for the electrical and mechanical work involved in realizing the most sustainable education building in the Netherlands.
Friso-Koopmans and Cofely are formally ‘other contractors’, but will work together as partners to realize the ambitious plans, with the planned completion date in mid-2016. The collaboration has already started – construction work on the Zernike Campus is already well underway. The driving of the 300 foundation piles is complete and the builders are working hard on the substructure.
